It was a treat to be offered absolutely excellent coffee too. I especially loved her homemade apricot oatmeal scones. Marsha provided this recommendation and lots of other helpful suggestions about navigating and exploring Boston in the short time I had available. Newton itself is an interesting place to discover and I enjoyed a delicious Chilean meal at Comedor, a fairly new restaurant nearby in Newton Centre. The home's location in a gracious historic neighbourhood, close to the T, provides an opportunity to imagine you are living in Boston, or staying with friends, if only for a moment. A lovely bathroom with shower was a few steps down the hall, past another, smaller room, which, if booked together with the larger room, would make a perfect set-up for a couple plus a friend or for a couple of friends travelling together. I stayed in the largest, light-filled third floor room furnished with an extremely comfortable, king-sized bed, loveseat and small desk. Very fortunately for me, everything I looked at in the most central areas was booked and I expanded my search and ended up at this truly wonderful bed and breakfast! This is an elegantly and comfortably decorated Victorian home with great character and charm. I was travelling to Boston for work and needed to be in the Back Bay all day, so initially wasn't thinking of staying in Newton.
